Rules and Regulations

6.  Competition Rules:

  1. Any country, regional, and local martial arts school, club, or individuals can register for this competition.
  2. ONLY the Advanced Divisions Athletes can register for all three events in Barehand, Short Weapon, and Long Weapon can compete for the “All Around” Title.
  3. No Music, counting, or instructions are allowed for the Three-Person Silent and Synchronized Drill Team.
  4. Health Qigong “Yi Jin Jing” division must use designated IHQF music with no wording, counting, or instructions allowed in the music.
  5. Any school or club with 10 or more registered athletes is qualified for the “Group Champion” Title.  If the group has more than 10 registered athletes, then the top 10-registered athlete’s medal counts will determine the placement of the title.
  6. All the information on the registration form is truly completed, fully and accurately.
  7. You are responsible for your own safety. During competitions, the organizers and co-organizers are not responsible for your injury and/or medical expenses.
  8. No refunds will be issued for the registration fee if athletes fail to show up to compete in his/her event(s).
  9. To Change your registration event, a WRITTEN statement is required on or before September 17, 2017.  After September 17, 2017, NO changing requests will be allowed.  Each request change will be assessed a $25USD fee.  
  10. All athletes need to bring proof of age at the time of the check-in at the morning of the event.  These documents must be legal documents such as birth certificate or passport.
  11. Be on time.  After you finish checking in for an event and don't report to your designed ring on time to compete, we will consider you as having “forfeit” this event.
  12. If there is a discrepancy between the English and Chinese Rules.  The English Rule will prevail.

 

7. Age Groups: for individual divisions:

  1. Toddler 6 years and under (B), born after January 1, 2011.
  2. Children 7 to 9 years old (C1), born between 2008 and 2010.
  3. Children 10 to 12 years old (C2), born between 2007 and 2005.
  4. Youth 13 to 15 years old (T1), born between 2002 and 2004.
  5. Teens 16 to 18 years old (T2), born between 1999 and 2001.
  6. Adult 19 to 39 years old (A1), born between 1978 and 1998.
  7. Adult 40 to 49 years old (A2), born between 1968 and 1977.
  8. Senior 50 years and older (S1), born on and before December 31, 1967.
  9. Senior 60 years and older (S2), born on and before December 31, 1957.
  10. Senior 70 years and older (S3), born on and before December 31, 1947.

 

8. Skill Levels:

A. Beginner: 2 years and less of study

B. Intermediate: 2-5 years of study

C. Advanced: 5 years and more of study

 

9. Time Requirements:

A. First Timer division is allowed for all styles, all ages, all skill levels to be in one special division.  The goal is to help you overcome your anxiety and feel the excitement of competition.  The maximum time is two minutes.  As time expires, the Chief Judge will stop the competitor.  No time deduction.

B. Wushu individual event in Barehand, Short, and Long Weapons for 12 years old and under is maximum one minutes and thirty seconds (1’30”).  As time expire, the Chief Judge will stop the competitor.  No time deduction.

C. Wushu individual event in Barehand, Short, and Long Weapons for 12 years old and over is minimum one minute ten seconds (1’10”) and maximum two minutes (2’).  For every two seconds short or over the time limit, the competitor will receive 0.1 point deduction from the final score.

D. Wushu individual event in Barehand, Short, and Long Weapons for 18 years old and over is minimum one minute twenty seconds (1’20”) and maximum two minutes (2’).  For every two seconds short or over the time limit, the competitor will receive 0.1 point deduction from the final score.

E. Traditional Kung Fu individual event in Barehand, Short, and Long Weapons for 12 years old and under is maximum one minutes and thirty seconds (1’30”).  As time expire, the Chief Judge will stop the competitor.  No time deduction

F. Traditional Kung Fu individual event in Barehand, Short, and Long Weapons for 12 years old and over are minimum one minute and ten seconds (1’10”) and maximum two minutes (2’).  For every two seconds short or over the time limit, competitor will receive 0.1 deductions from the final score.

G. Traditional Kung Fu individual event in Barehand, Short, and Long Weapons for 18 years old and over are minimum one minute twenty seconds (1’20”) and maximum two minutes (2’).  For every two seconds short or over the time limit, the competitor will receive 0.1 deductions from the final score.

H. Yang Style and Chen Style Tai Chi events, all age divisions required minimum three minutes (3’) and maximum five minutes (5’). For every five seconds over and short of the time limit, competitor will receive 0.1 deductions from the final score.  Chief Judge will give a warning at four minutes.

J. Two-Person and Three-Person fighting sets maximum two minute (2’).  For every two seconds over the time limit, the competitor will receive 0.1 deductions from the final score.

K. Three-Person Silent and Synchronized Drill Team for 12 years old and under is maximum two minutes (2’).  For every two seconds over the time limit, the competitor will receive 0.1 deductions from the final score.

L. Three-Person Silent and Synchronized Drill Team for 12 years old and over maximum three minutes (3’).  For every two seconds over the time limit, the competitor will receive 0.1 deductions from the final score.

M. Three-Person Health Qigong requires using IHQF Yi Jin Jing music.  When the music finishes and the athletes are still moving, 0.1 deductions are made for every five seconds until athletes are finished.

 

10. Placement:

A. All First Timers will receive a special Medal for competing.

B. Individuals participating in events of Barehand, Short Weapons, and Long Weapons will receive an award if they are among the top 5 athletes in their division. Each division is separated by age, skills and gender.

C. The top 5 teams among the Two person and Three Person Fighting Sets are given awards.  Fighting sets divisions are separated by age group.

D. The top 5 teams among the Three person Silent and Synchronized Drill Team are given awards.  Three-person Silent and Synchronized Drill Team division is separated by age group.

E. Group Champion Title is awarded to the top 5 schools or clubs with the most Gold, Silver and Bronze medals winners.

 

11.  Registration and Fees: 

  1. No on-site registration.
  2. All registration must be received on or before September 15, 2017.
  3. Early registration for Individuals must be received on or before August 31, 2017:
    1. First event registration fee is ($60USD base registration fee + $30USD event fee =) $90USD.
    2. Each additional event registration fee is $30USD.
  4. Late registration for Individuals received on or after September 1, 2017:
    1. First event registration fee is ($70USD base registration fee + $40USD event fee =) $110USD.
    2. Each additional event registration fee is $40USD.
  5. Two-Person Fighting Set registration:
    1. On or before August 31, 2017 is $100USD.
    2. On or after September 1, 2017 is $120USD.
  6. Three-Person Fighting Set registration:
    1. On or before August 31, 2017 is $100USD.
    2. On or after September 1, 2017 is $150USD.
  7. Three-Person Silent and Synchronized Drill Team registration:
    1. On or before August 31, 2017 is $100USD.
    2. On or after September 1, 2017 is $150USD.
  8. Health Qigong Three-Person Team registration:
    1. On or before August 31, 2017 is $100USD.
    2. On or after September 1, 2017 is $150USD.
  9. Non-competitor’s ticket is US$15.
